Insurance industry certificated panels are based on large-scale tests developed by the Loss Prevention Council (LPC) and Factory Mutual (FM) specifically to assess panel products. They test panels in realistic full-scale, as-built conditions and simulate the behaviour in real fires as shown by actual fire inspections. See Certificated panels and testing.

Insurance certificated PIR Panels for internal use are tested in accordance with LPS 1181: Part 2 ‘Requirements and tests for wall and ceiling lining systems for use as internal construction in buildings’ or LPS 1208 “Fire test requirements for elements of construction used to provide compartmentation”.
